LIES a play by the avant-garde theatre company from Ghent, Ontroerend Goed.
Vormen was asked to conceive and produce the scenography for this interactive performance play. Because of the economical theme of the play we decided on constructing the ‘playhall’ as a fusion of a casino room and a stock exchange hall. A rotating tower and adjoining control centre form the midpoint of a circle made up of 12 blackjack tables. The tables were made with wood inlay techniques in which we combined a blackened birch tabletop with solid oak and walnut shapes. Each table can seat 7 players (audience) and a croupier (actor).
